New Mexico PTA is seeking individuals for the following state leadership positions to be elected or appointed in May 2019 and serve a 2-year term unless otherwise stated:

New Mexico PTA is hiring a part-time Office Manager
New Mexico PTA is hiring a part-time Office Manager for the office located in Albuquerque, NM. The Office Manager works a 25 hour work week and must be available during business hours, 8:30am – 1:30pm Monday – Friday. Training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will have an office administration background with strong computer skills. The applicant must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. Salary is $8.95 an hour.

Since 1915, the mission of New Mexico PTA has been to initiate, support, enrich and advocate for the critical role of adult involvement in the education and life experiences of children throughout the state of New Mexico.
New Mexico PTA is pleased to announce that the applications for the 2018-2019 Land of Enchantment PTA Scholarships are now available. The scholarships are awarded in three categories: high school senior, parent/guardian, and educator each with a history of advocating for others in their school or community.
Applications must be postmarked on or before Friday May 18, 2019.
New Mexico PTA also offers one individual a scholarship to attend the National PTA Convention 2019. This application must be postmarked on or before Friday April 6, 2019.

Based on the National Standards for Family-School Partnerships this awards program encourages all New Mexico PTA schools to submit entries in one or more categories describing how the PTA at your school successfully Welcomed All Families, Communicated Effectively, Supported Student Success, Spoke Up for Every Child, Shared Power, and Collaborated With Community.

New Mexico PTA Reflections Winners!
In January Reflections entries from around the state filled our office for this year’s theme “Within Reach”! After a second round of judging, 15 talented artists have been chosen to represent New Mexico at the National PTA Reflections contest.
Congratulations to Adobe Acres & Double Eagle PTAs!
On February 28 any PTA that was in compliance was entered into a drawing for $200! Double Eagle PTA was the lucky winner! Also, in February, any compliant unit that submitted five new members was entered into a drawing for free Extra Value Meals from McDonald’s for their Board of Directors. Adobe Acres will be enjoying those coupons!

Updated officer lists for the 2017-2018 school year should be emailed to the New Mexico PTA office as soon as possible. This allows us to maintain communications with your PTA as you transition to the new school year. It’s fine to send us a list that does not have all officer positions filled yet. You may turn in additional contact information later. You should turn this list in each year. Don’t put this important step off and miss out on information your PTA needs for next year! Print off the list on this email, scan and send the list to firstname.lastname@example.org or go to www.newmexicopta.org – members only section – fill in the form and email it. Don’t delay!
