Our Mission

The mission of New Mexico Parent Teacher Association (NMPTA) is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Our President

Tami Baker currently serves as New Mexico PTA President. She started volunteering when her oldest child began Kindergarten and served in local PTAs for 15 years through her kids’ elementary, middle, and high schools. Tami served for three years on a Council PTA Board and just completed her 11th year on New Mexico PTA’s Board of Directors. Tami holds a BS in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. Tami and her husband of 25 years are enjoying adjusting to ‘empty nester’ status as their three children are all in college. She enjoys reading, puzzles, and going to concerts.
