𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗖 𝗔𝗕𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗜𝗦𝗠 𝗦𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗦 𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗖 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬School districts with persistently high chronic absenteeism rates after the COVID-19 pandemic struggled to return to pre-pandemic academic achievement rates, according to an analysis by NWEA, an assessment and research company. Districts with consistently high absenteeism rates were about 50% further from recovery in math achievement compared to districts that never experienced high absenteeism, NWEA found. 𝗜𝗥𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗬Your PTA is its own 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. As such, there is a “responsible party” listed with the IRS and associated with your PTA’s EIN. To help keep the IRS’ records as up-to-date as possible, whenever there is a change of leadership for your PTA (a new President), form 8822-B should be filed with the IRS within 60 days of the change to let them know.
